raised for pediatric cancer research.

The third edition of the Coupe Charles-Bruneau in Quebec City, presented by IGA in collaboration with Scotiabank, was a resounding success. More than 300 participants gathered in a festive and supportive atmosphere to support pediatric cancer research, raising a record $325,000 net for the Quebec City event.

Families turned out in large numbers to cheer on the teams and participating public figures, including Florence Breton and Pierre Bruneau, spokespersons for the Foundation, Hugo Giroux, Simon Pigeon, Anthony Therrien, Jade Auclair-Roy, Pierrick Lacroix, and several players from the Quebec Remparts.

Inspiring young heroes and heroines!

For this third edition of the Coupe Charles-Bruneau in Quebec City, three young heroes and heroines joined the participants. They are Mathéo, age 4, in remission from stage 4 neuroblastoma, Rose, 12, in remission from osteosarcoma, and Théophile, 15, in remission from a small round cell desmoplastic tumor. These are three cheerful and endearing young people who underwent their treatments at the Charles-Bruneau Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Unit at the CHU de Québec-Université Laval.

Quebec City, a Key Hub for the Charles-Bruneau Foundation

In the fall of 2025, the Charles-Bruneau Foundation committed to investing a historic $50 million by 2030 in Quebec’s four university hospitals specializing in pediatric hematology-oncology. Of this amount, more than $5 million will go to the Charles-Bruneau Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Unit at the CHU de Québec-Université Laval. Inaugurated in 2018 by the Charles-Bruneau Foundation, this state-of-the-art center provides highly specialized care to children with cancer in the region and surrounding areas. Last year, 90 children were diagnosed with cancer, and currently, more than 800 young patients are being treated there. Thanks to the Foundation’s unwavering commitment, children with cancer benefit from personalized and gentler care.

In Quebec, 40% of children diagnosed with cancer are treated in the Capitale-Nationale region, a testament to the Charles-Bruneau Foundation’s leadership role in the area.

Thank you to the donors, participants, volunteers, partners, families, and public figures for making this day such a great success!
